- Equip participants with a thorough understanding of the role and responsibilities of a Helicopter Landing Officer in offshore and onshore environments.
- Teach participants the essential procedures for safely managing helicopter landings and take-offs, ensuring both personnel and equipment are secure during operations.
- Provide practical training on the proper communication techniques required between the HLO, helicopter crew, and other personnel involved in operations.
- Familiarize participants with the specific safety protocols for dealing with emergency situations related to helicopter operations, including emergency evacuation procedures and crash response.
- Train participants in the identification and management of hazards in and around helicopter landing zones (HLZ), including weather conditions, terrain, and operational risks.
- Ensure participants understand the importance of maintaining a clear and safe landing area, including managing air traffic control and ground crew activities.
- Introduce participants to safety equipment and protocols used by HLOs, including firefighting measures, first aid, and personal protective equipment (PPE) necessary for the role.
