Course Objectives

Participants completing this course will be able to:

1. Understand the key responsibilities of a Rigging Loft Controller, including inventory management and ensuring equipment compliance with safety regulations.
2. Identify and apply the correct inspection, maintenance, and storage procedures for lifting gear and rigging equipment.
3. Conduct detailed pre-use inspections and maintain accurate records of rigging and lifting equipment certification.
4. Implement effective systems to monitor and control the movement of rigging equipment in and out of the rigging loft.
5. Recognize and manage risks associated with defective or non-compliant rigging gear to maintain safety standards.
6. Develop knowledge of industry standards and regulations governing lifting operations, including LOLER and PUWER.
7. Enhance organizational skills to optimize the rigging loft layout for efficient equipment retrieval and storage.
8. Participate in practical exercises to ensure hands-on competence in rigging loft management and equipment inspection.
9. Foster a proactive safety culture through the proper handling and monitoring of lifting and rigging tools.
