Course Overview
A Self-Loader (also known as a HIAB crane) is a type of hydraulic crane that is mounted on a vehicle, typically a truck, allowing it to load and unload goods without the need for additional external equipment or assistance. The term “Self-Loader” comes from the crane’s ability to load and unload itself using its own hydraulic lifting system. The crane features a hydraulic arm (also called a boom) that can be extended, raised, and rotated to pick up, move, and place heavy loads, such as construction materials, machinery, or containers.
Self-loader (HIAB) training is specifically designed to teach individuals how to safely operate HIAB cranes, also known as self-loading cranes. These machines are widely used in industries like construction, logistics, and transportation for lifting, loading, and unloading heavy materials. This training ensures operators are skilled in using HIAB cranes to safely handle goods while maintaining efficiency and safety standards.
Course Objectives
By the end of the course, participants will be able to:
- Understand Self Loader (HIAB) Operations: Gain a clear understanding of the mechanics, functions, and components of self-loading cranes.
- Operate Self Loaders Safely: Learn how to operate the crane and perform loading and unloading operations safely and efficiently.
- Inspect and Maintain Self Loaders: Acquire the skills to perform pre-operation checks, basic maintenance, and ensure that the equipment is in good working condition.
- Follow Safety Procedures: Understand and apply essential safety measures, including load securing, stability assessments, and safe working practices.
- Respond to Emergencies: Be trained in managing emergency situations, including load-related issues, equipment malfunction, or unsafe conditions.
- Comply with Legal and Safety Standards: Ensure adherence to international safety regulations and standards for crane operations.
