IWCF WIPC Level 2

Course Objectives
Delegates completing the IWCF Level 2 course will be able to:

  • Provide participants with a solid foundation in well control principles, emphasizing the importance of maintaining control over wellbore pressures during drilling operations.
  • Teach participants to recognize early indicators of well control issues, such as kicks, and understand the causes behind these events.
  • Equip participants with the skills to assess and manage well control risks, including hazard identification and implementing mitigation strategies.
  • Ensure participants are proficient in well control procedures, including the appropriate actions to take in the event of a well control incident.
  • Train participants on the use of well control equipment and the proper procedures for pressure control during drilling and well intervention operations.
  • Provide practical exercises to help participants develop their skills in managing well control incidents and conducting necessary interventions.
  • Ensure participants understand the importance of effective communication and teamwork in managing well control situations.
  • Prepare participants to respond confidently and competently to well control events, ensuring a safe and efficient drilling operation.
  • Equip participants with the knowledge to ensure compliance with well control regulations and industry best practices.

Course Prerequisite

  1. Access to a smart device with a stable internet connection.
  2. Must be 18 years and above.
  3. No previous experience or qualifications required.
