Course Objectives

Delegates completing the Roustabout Training course will be able to:

  • Provide participants with a clear understanding of the essential roles and responsibilities of a roustabout on offshore drilling rigs.
  • Teach participants the key safety procedures and hazard awareness techniques necessary to perform tasks safely in the offshore environment.
  • Equip participants with the skills to handle and maintain rig equipment, tools, and machinery, ensuring proper operation and reducing the risk of accidents.
  • Familiarize participants with offshore platform and rig layout, including the proper use of personal protective equipment (PPE) and emergency procedures.
  • Introduce participants to basic maintenance tasks, such as cleaning, painting, and securing equipment, vital for maintaining the rig’s integrity.
  • Ensure participants understand the process of loading, unloading, and transporting materials safely on the rig, adhering to safety protocols.
  • Train participants to recognize common offshore hazards such as slips, trips, and falls, and the appropriate measures to mitigate these risks.
  • Teach participants how to work effectively as part of a team, ensuring smooth and safe operations on offshore rigs.
  • Provide hands-on training for emergency response scenarios, such as fire or oil spill control, to enhance readiness for any potential situations.
  • Equip participants with the ability to perform routine rig operations efficiently, including rigging and lifting tasks.

Delivery Method

Instructor led virtual Training via Microsoft Teams/Zoom/Google Meet.

Course Prerequisite

  1. Access to a smart device with a stable internet connection.
  2. Must be 18 years and above.
  3. No previous experience or qualifications required.
