Control of Substances Hazardous to Health Training

Course Objectives

By the end of the COSHH training, participants will be able to:

  1. Understand COSHH Regulations: Gain a comprehensive understanding of the legal requirements and responsibilities under the COSHH regulations.
  2. Identify Hazardous Substances: Recognize common hazardous substances in the workplace and their potential health effects.
  3. Assess Risks Effectively: Conduct thorough COSHH risk assessments to identify and evaluate potential exposure risks.
  4. Implement Control Measures: Apply appropriate control measures, including substitution, containment, ventilation, and personal protective equipment (PPE).
  5. Read and Interpret Safety Data Sheets (SDS): Understand and utilize SDS information to ensure safe handling and storage of hazardous substances.
  6. Promote Workplace Safety: Develop and implement safe working procedures to minimize exposure and protect health.
  7. Respond to Incidents: Handle spills, leaks, and accidental exposure effectively, including emergency response protocols.
  8. Monitor and Review Practices: Conduct regular monitoring of control measures and update safety practices as needed.
  9. Foster a Safety Culture: Encourage proactive health and safety behaviors among team members.

Instructor led virtual Training via Microsoft Teams/Zoom/Google Meet.

Course Prerequisite

  1. Access to a smart device with a stable internet connection.
  2. Must be 18 years and above.
  3. No previous experience or qualifications required.
