Course Overview
This course equips participants with the theoretical knowledge and practical skills required to safely operate overhead cranes in accordance with industry regulations, manufacturer guidelines, and best practices.
Course Objectives
By the end of this course, participants will be able to:
- Understand the principles and safe operation of overhead cranes.
- Identify major crane components, controls, and their functions.
- Interpret the manufacturer’s operating manual and safety requirements.
- Conduct pre-operational inspections and routine safety checks.
- Set up safe work and exclusion zones before lifting operations.
- Select and use appropriate Personal Protective Equipment (PPE).
- Safely lift, move, and position loads using approved operating techniques.
- Apply environmental and workplace safety considerations during crane operations.
- Perform end-of-shift shutdown procedures and basic equipment care.
