The IOSH Confined Space Management Course is designed to equip participants with the knowledge and practical skills required to safely manage work activities in confined spaces. Course Objectives

Upon completing the IOSH Confined Space Management Course, participants will be able to:

• Understand what constitutes a confined space and the legal responsibilities of employers, supervisors, and workers.
• Identify common hazards associated with confined spaces, including toxic atmospheres, oxygen deficiency, engulfment, and restricted access.
• Conduct confined space risk assessments and develop safe systems of work.
• Understand permit-to-work systems and their role in confined space safety management.
• Apply appropriate control measures such as isolation, ventilation, monitoring, and safe entry procedures.
• Recognize the importance of atmospheric testing and continuous monitoring in confined spaces.
• Select and manage suitable personal protective equipment (PPE) and respiratory protective equipment (RPE).
• Plan and manage emergency and rescue arrangements for confined space incidents.
• Promote safe behavior, supervision, and effective communication during confined space activities.

Certification
